MONTCE FTL

Like a snail outgrowing its shell, Montce Swim has bounced around the Fort Lauderdale area with every major success. When it came time to design their permanent home, a location they own rather than lease, they called on us. As a longtime lover of the brand, it was such an honor to be asked to assist on this buildout, my very first commercial project...

working closely with miami’s nine&eye team, we wove the montce brand into a creamy, dreamy, soft edged backdrop that would compliment every season’s palette. we gutted the space, leaving nothing but structural elements that were helping to suspend the beautifully exposed raw wood ceiling joists, which we also left in tact. we opened up exterior walls to allow for a flood of natural light, poured concrete floors, we built up new walls, with arched passthroughs and niched cutouts for product display. added simple black framed racks that are suspended from the double height ceiling and extruded from the walls below. The benches and dipslay boxes are all customized to bring in additional wood tones. we added terracotta sconces, backlit mirrors, and a whimsical hairy (dried grass) pendant. the result is beachy but refined. relaxed but polished.
